Sir Paul McCartney amazed staff at a vegetarian cafe with a £120 order for lunch.

The Beatles legend’s meat-free takeaway included 12 rounds of sandwiches, roasted peppers, hummus, falafel, frittatas, savoury bakes and brownies.

Sian Sheridan, chef at the Fortify Cafe in Maidstone, Kent, said: “I made sure everything was perfect. I couldn’t believe I was making Paul McCartney’s lunch.”

Macca ate it with a little help from his friends on Later with Jools Holland, which he was filming nearby.
