The Great British Bake Off host hints he may be getting back together with betrayed wife Alexandra

TV star Paul Hollywood has told how his affair with a younger co-host was the “biggest mistake” of his life – and hinted that he was cooking up a reunion with wife Alexandra.
In an interview with BBC Radio 5 live’s Richard Bacon, the 47-year-old Great British Bake Off host said today: “[The affair] was biggest mistake of my life – because actually I still love my wife… we are talking, working together but it’s going to take time.”
“I was shocked about the whole thing kicking off the way it did… but I deserved it and I’ve taken it. It was my punishment.”
It is the strongest hint yet the blue eyed baker may be getting back together with wife Alexandra, mother of his 11-year-old son Josh, and the first full frank admission of his affair with TV chef Marcela Valladolid.

Paul and mum-of-one Marcela, who was recently voted one of the world’s top 60 most desirable women, were said to have “hit it off from day one” when they met before filming America’s version of the hit BBC2 show.
Even before Paul flew to Los Angeles in March to be a judge, she described him as a “handsome devil”.
After 15 years of marriage Paul moved out of the family home in Wingham, Kent, in May.
Alexandra then said she was divorcing him on the grounds of adultery.

Speaking about the split in July said: “I love my husband and I was and still am very proud of what he has achieved, but there is no going back and I just want this finished with and to move on.”
Now speculation is rife that the celebrity baker has rekindled his relationship with Alexandra after they started following each other on Twitter for the first time since they split.
The pair even revealed on Twitter that they had reunited to celebrate their son Josh’s 12th birthday earlier this month.
Alexandra has previously insisted she is divorcing Paul on the grounds of adultery which he is not contesting.
Herself a talented cook, Alexandra has won a growing number of Twitter fans since her split from Paul.
Her dozens of daily tweets focus on her love for food and include recipes and pictures of dishes she has cooked.
According to reports she has caught the eye of production companies keen to sign her up for a new TV show and is thought to be writing her own cookery book.
Alexandra would pose as a rival to Paul, who packed his bags and moved out of their 13th century marital home in the Kent village of Wingham in May.
It was claimed he had grown close to 34-year-old Californian Marcela, who last year re-married her ex-husband Fausto, father of her eight-year-old son.
Speaking in an interview about Fausto she once said: “He literally waited for years for me to go around the world and do my thing.”
