The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, who moved into Apartment 1A with Prince George last month, have already lined up Bon Jovi and Taylor Swift to perform at their newly-renovated property, alongside British stars James Blunt and Eliza Doolittle.
It has been reported that guests will be welcomed with a champagne reception in the King’s Gallery ballroom and will then sit down to a pre-concert dinner before Bon Jovi kicks off the music in the royal gardens.
Particularly exciting is the news that the event will be open to the public. There will be 500 tickets going on sale priced at £500 each, while 250 will be held as ‘VVIP’ passes, according to the Sunday Times.
The Winter Whites Gala is scheduled to take place on 26 November at the Palace’s State Apartments. All proceeds will go to a cause very close to William and Kate’s heart, the homeless charity Centrepoint.
The annual concert is usually held at the Royal Albert Hall — this is the first time that patron William will host the event.
During the fundraiser, he is also set to honour headliner Jon Bon Jovi with the Youth Inspiration Award for his charity work, in recognition of his work to establish the Bon Jovi Soul Foundation.
William is known to be a big fan of Bon Jovi. He famously performed a karaoke cover of the band’s hit Livin On A Prayer at the wedding of his cousin Zara Phillips and Mike Tindall in 2011.
