It seems Avril Lavigne and Chad Kroeger run a very tight ship when it comes to their marriage.

The Canadian newlyweds tied the knot in France back in July, and the couple have opened up about the strict rules they stick to.

Both the 29-year-old singer and the Nickelback frontman’s music careers are demanding, but they have both agreed to never spend more than a fortnight apart.

Avril told People magazine: “We don’t spend more than two weeks apart … Chad’s been really supportive and coming out with me [on tour], which is awesome.

“I’ve never really had that before, and it makes it better.”

The Sk8er Boi star – who was previously married to Sum 41 vocalist Deryck Whibley – insisted while the limits might seem overbearing, they don’t want to take their relationship “for granted”.

She explained: “When you have something special, you can’t take it for granted and be careless with it … We want to give it all the care and love and nurturing that we can.”

Chad also revealed the couple have agreed not to drink alcohol or go clubbing while they’re apart because they don’t want to be worrying about where each other are.

The rocker said: “We don’t drink when we’re apart. Ever. Even if we’re apart for weeks … We don’t want to go anywhere that you’re asking for trouble.

“I don’t want to be in Europe texting her, like ‘Where are you?’ This way we don’t have to worry about any of that stuff.”

Given her recent marriage woes Kris Jenner could be forgiven for hiding away and taking some time out to get over her separation from her former Olympic athlete husband Bruce.

But the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star and momager extraordinaire isn’t known for following the pack.

So, it may not come as a surprise to some that she opted for a night out with her gal pals in Los Angeles this week in a bid to lift her mood and take her mind off her troubles.

The chat show hostess stepped out for a meal and looked as effortlessly stylish as ever in a grey patterned blouse and black skinny jeans which matched the dark boots she chose to complete her outfit.

And her girlfriends are clearly very considerate, or simply just plain psychic, as they all left with what appeared to be gifts at the end of the evening which were wrapped in paper similar in colour to Kris’ clothes.

Now, unlike Kris’ friends and their apparent ability to see into the future, we do not have a crystal ball so we didn’t see with our own eyes what happened in private behind the closed doors of the restaurant but it seems Kris was in reasonably good spirits as she happily smiled when she left after chowing down on some delicious grub.

Kris’ reason for looking so happy could be, of course, because she actually is – she and Bruce claim they are much happier with their current situation with Kris living in the Calabasas, California family home and Bruce living in their beach house in Malibu nearby.

Announcing the news of their split earlier this month, Kris said: “We are living separately and we are much happier this way.

“But we will always have much love and respect for each other. Even though we are separated we will always remain best friends and, as always, our family will remain our number one priority.

“We ended our marriage, but that’s not the end of our friendship. I will always love him, but we are no longer a couple in that way. We are happier this way.”

And it seems that is certainly the case as Bruce has been spotted out and about wearing his wedding ring and the pair happily posed for a selfie with Bruce’s two sons Brandon and Brody recently.
