"Made in Chelsea" TV Review Series 6 Episode 3 - The Definition Of Madness, According To Einstein And Spencer Matthews

Albert Einstein apparently once described insanity as the ability to do the same thing over and over again, and expect a different result. Probably the first time that big benevolent brain has come to mind during ‘Made in Chelsea’.

This then could apply to Jamie splitting his favours between Lucy (Watson) and Phoebe – surely the definition of a rock and a hard place. Getting on the wrong side of one of those stern-jawed gals – unfortunate. Both of them – well, that’s just bad management.

Go on, Fran, just hit ‘Delete All’ and be done, I dare you…

Or it could equally apply to Spencer, getting into far too cosy a love hammock with the current squeeze du jour (this week, STILL Stephanie), talking about ‘this relationship’ until he’s blue in the face, failing to understand why she doesn’t like him hanging out with the ex, and then strangely strangling himself with the love cords of his own making.

Of course, it could just as well as apply to us mugs tuning in for this particular slot of a Monday evening, hoping against hope that someone shakes off the shackles of peer pressure, deletes every single number in their mobile phone and – dare I say it – gives Cheska or Rosie Fortescue a storyline. What AM I thinking? Madness.

Made in Chelsea"s Spencer Matthews speaks about what makes him cry

24 OCTOBER 2013 Spencer Matthews has revealed the one thing that always makes him cry — watching The Lion King.

The Made in Chelsea star was referring to one scene in the children’s cartoon film in particular, and made the admission in the show’s official handbook, Made in Chelsea: Life and Style Essentials.

“I always cry when Mufasa dies in The Lion King,” said Spencer. “I just can’t handle it.”

The old Etonian, who has featured in the BAFTA-Award winning series since the start of the show, went on to describe his Disney preferences.

“My celebrity crush is Princess Jasmine,” said Spencer. “She’s the perfect woman. I watch a lot of Disney films and whenever one of my little nieces is round I’ll slap on Cinderella or Hercules and use them as an excuse to watch it.”

Spencer’s love life is anything but picture perfect. The television personality has broken many hearts on the show, cheating on both of his co-star girlfriends Louise Thompson and Lucy Watson, who he dated one after the other in the last series.

Lucy has previously spoken out about her relationship with Spencer, and shortly after their break-up, the brunette beauty admitted that she still had feelings for him.

“When you fall for someone like that, you’re in a very intense relationship and the feelings never completely go away,” said Lucy. “Spencer’s quite a selfish person and he thinks about what’s good for him.”

 

Spencer has also had his fair share of arguments with other co-stars, including fashionista Millie Mackintosh, who quit the show at the end of last series.

“I impersonate the Made in Chelsea cast,” said Spencer. “I do a good Millie — you have to change the shape of your mouth, kind of purse your lips together like a fish for it to sound right.

“I’ve done it in front of her and we shared a smile, which is more than we have in the last ten years.”

Lucy Watson: "I still have feelings for Spencer"

16 OCTOBER 2013 Made in Chelsea‘s Lucy Watson has admitted that she still has feelings for her ex-boyfriend Spencer Matthews.

“When you fall for someone like that, you’ve in a very intense relationship, the feelings never completely go away,” the reality TV star confessed.

Despite not being totally over Spencer, she wasn’t afraid to say what she really thinks of him and described him as “selfish”.

 

“I’m very protective of myself and I know what’s good for me – I thought it was him and it’s just not,” she revealed to Look magazine. “I’m stubborn in that and I’m going to stick by what’s right.

“He’s quite a selfish person and he thinks about what’s good for him and I think if he was me he’d do the same.”

Lucy is dating again but admitted she isn’t looking for anything serious.

When asked if she’d consider taking Spencer back, Lucy laughed the idea off.

“I’d go Spencer ‘get up’, and just own it and get over it,” she said.

 

Spencer admitted he cheated on Lucy during the show’s End of Season Party and admitted that he was “out of control”.

“I’ve slipped up,” he said. “I’ve cheated on her. It was pretty recently, a couple of days ago. I was in Greece. I think I’m just young and living some form of dream but unfortunately hurting people in the process.”

The couple had been together for two months before his infidelity, which took place during a trip to Zante with his best friend and former MIC castmember Hugo Taylor, who cheated on then-girlfriend Millie Mackintosh during an earlier season of the show.
