Pop stars One Direction and X Factor judge Gary Barlow have been immortalised…..as part of a collection of bears for the BBC’s Children in Need.

The bespoke teddies, modelled on the annual appeal’s mascot Pudsey, are two of ten toys which will be auctioned off later this month.

Other celebs to be included in the so-called ‘Very Important Pudsey’ collection are Sir Paul McCartney, Coldplay, Sir Terry Wogan, Dame Shirley Bassey, Brian May, Dame Judi Dench, Joanna Lumley and Dame Helen Mirren.

The ‘One Directioner’ bear – named after 1D’s fans – has cream faux fur and wears light blue shorts, Converse shoes, a floral bandana and a varsity-style 1D cardigan.

The boy band said: “We are often asked what the driving force behind us is and the answer is always the same – our fans.

“Our fans are the ones who got us where we are today and who inspire everything we do, including bear designs!

“So, meet One Directioner Pudsey.

“Please do dig deep and bid on our bear, it really will go on to make a difference.”

Meanwhile, Gary Barlow’s suited bear is inspired by his love of performing and wearing a suit.

This particular teddy is made of brown velvet and wears a Union Jack bandana.

Gary said: “BBC Children in Need is a charity incredibly close to my heart, so I wanted my bear to echo something else that I hold close to my heart – performing.

“This bear is a reflection of me in one of my favourite suits performing on stage.”

The unique collection is now on auction via www.bbc.co.uk/pudsey

The collection is being exhibited at St Pancras International in London until November 17.

As well as designing a Very Important Pudsey, One Direction take on presenting duties for BBC Children In Need 2013 on November 15.

They will give the first British TV performance of their track Best Song Ever and they will also host the BBC Two portion of Children in Need night between 10pm and 10.35pm from Eastenders’ Queen Vic pub.

In a series of special links, the band will be introducing some special music performances before the fundraising action goes back over to BBC One for the rest of the night.

One Direction added: “We all grew up watching Children in Need as kids so to be in a position where we can collaborate with the charity and help raise funds for this amazing cause is truly special for us.”

One Direction to perform at Richard Branson"s New Year"s Eve party

We’ve give almost anything to be invited to the star-studded event…

Now this is one party that I’d happily give my right arm, left arm and both legs to get on the guest list: Richard Branson’s New Year’s Eve party on Necker Island.

The Virgin mogul is planning the bash to end all bashes on the tropical paradise, now his permanent home.

It’s going to be huge, with One Direction playing a gig.

I’m told that Sir Richard, 63, is currently putting together the guest list, which will feature A-listers, millionaires, billionaires and Hollywood stars.

My source tells me: “One Direction have been asked to be the main attraction and perform at the party.

“Officially the bash is being thrown to celebrate the start of space flights with Virgin Galactic which are due to be launching by the end of 2014, but it will not be a ‘worky’ event. Sir Richard wants everyone to let their hair down and have a good time. He has invited guests to stay for a decadent party.”

Of course Harry Styles, 19, has history with Necker (which costs £37,500 per night to hire, in case you’re interested).

He was on holiday there with then girlfriend Taylor Swift last year, just before they split. He also spent a raucous night in a hot-tub with British entrepreneur Hermione Way. She giggled afterwards: “What happens on Necker, stays on Necker.”

Virgin Galactic has secured some big names for its first flights into space with Ashton Kutcher, Brad Pitt, Justin Bieber, Kate Winslet and Russell Brand among those rumoured to have shelled out £125,000 for the trip.

It’s hardly surprising that Kate’s bagged tickets – hubby Ned RocknRoll is Sir Rich’s nephew and the last time she stayed on Necker she saved Richard’s mum Eva from a fire in 2011.

Sir Richard, you know my address…

One Direction beat Lady Gaga on iTunes chart with new single Story Of My Life

The What Makes You Beautiful singers entered at number one with the new track from their upcoming album Midnight Memories

One Direction have beaten Lady Gaga to the top spot on the iTunes chart with their new single Story Of My Life.

The Live While We’re Young stars came in at number one, while Lady Gaga’s Venus is at number two.

Further down the charts, Fatboy Slim’s Eat Sleep Rave Repeat is currently at number four and Justin Bieber is at number six with Recovery.

Story Of My Life is the second song lifted from One Direction’s Midnight Memories album, which will be released on November 25.

Niall Horan told Capital FM that the track was one of the group’s best and a “very passionate song.”

He said: “It’s up there with the best that we’ve brought out but Story Of My Life might just take it.

“It’s a very passionate song and when you see the video that goes with it, it suits it as well.”

Also on the iTunes chart is Tinie Tempah, whose track Children Of The Sun is at number 14. Youth by Foxes is currently at number 25.

On the album chart, Arcade Fire’s Reflektor is at number one and Pure Heroine by Lorde is second. Linkin park’s latest album Recharged is at number nine.

Following the news of his death, Lou Reed’s Transformer has re-entered at number 11.

It’s every parent’s worst nightmare – One Direction are to release the official DVD for This Is Us just SIX DAYS before Christmas.

The film – in shops on December 19 – comes in all shapes of Blu-Ray and HD sizes, plus a 3D format for the fans who want that added sense of reality.

And for the fans who’ve already seen the movie about a zillion times, there’s another reason why you should spend hard earned pocket money on the DVD.

It includes NEVER-BEFORE-SEEN footage from the ‘Ultimate Fan Edition’, including three exclusive features of the band at a radio station in Japan.

Plus there’s new footage of the boys visiting Madame Tussauds where they had their own waxworks sculptured.

The extended cut includes 20 minutes of new footage and four additional songs for fans to treasure. Excellent.

1D are such massive teases they premiered an exclusive 16-second audio clip of Story Of My Life.

The clip was shared on Soundcloud as the world’s biggest boyband continue to build-up hysteria for their highly anticipated third studio album Midnight Memories.

It’s a catchy chorus and the lyrics are: “The story of my life, I give her hope, I spend her love until she’s broken inside.. The story of my life.”

One fan wrote on Twitter: “Only 16 seconds were enough for me to fell in love with #StoryOfMyLife. Cannot wait for that song <3.”

Professor Green denies warning One Direction against their growing tattoo collection

The rapper took to Twitter to rubbish claims he said the boy band might wind up regretting their assortment of inkings

The whole tattoo-related hoo-ha erupted when a newspaper quoted Millie Mackintosh’s hubby as saying the teen pin-ups might one day wind up regretting their inkings.

“It takes me a while to decide what tattoo I want. You get these young kids like those boys in One Direction who go crazy and start tattooing their bodies all over.

“You never know, they might like them in a few years or they could be really sad about it,” pro apparently told The Sun.

But it wasn’t long before the rapper and night club owner took to his Twitter account to dismiss the cutting quotes.

Clearly pretty peeved about the whole thing, he wrote: “Apparently I’ve warned 1d away from tattoos, what a load of made up b*****ks. It’s not even a half truth!?”

He continued to fume: “‘They might like them or they might be really sad about it’ does that even sound like a sentence that would come out of my mouth?”

No. No it doesn’t. We think he’s got a point – especially as Pro’s got a fair few tattoos himself.

Between them, the One Direction lads do have a stellar assortment of tattoos, and curly-haired Harry has admitted in the past he’s no longer a fan of a few of his permanent designs. “I regret this one on my wrist here. I regret this. I mean, these are just crap,” he said.

Niall’s the only band member who hasn’t got an inking, but he did recently mimic his band mates by trying out a transfer.
